Sometimes the whole Bates vs. O’Brien/Thomas thing feels a bit plot hole-y. I know T wants to be a valet, but O’Brien has no reason to hate Bates. It’s like they’re just bored.
UMMM NOPE
O’Brien is just like Thomas’ best/only friend. They planned to be the lady’s maid…
Yes but remember when Thomas came back in S2 and they saw Anna and Bates and O’Brien was like “so how shall we get them???” and Thomas was like “meh, whatever” and O’Brien was like “God does no one know how to hold a grudge anymore I’ll do it myself.”
But then there was a scene later (or was it before, I forget, S2 is one giant blur to me) with Anna and Bates talking about how they’re going to run off to start a hotel and O’Brien says “why are you leaving everything will change” and A and B give her WTF-are-we-friends-now faces.
So I agree there’s an inconsistency in the way O’Brien’s motivations seem to work. Siobhan Finneran pulls it off though because she’s such a good actress.

048 & 049/100 → DOCKERY
She [Dame Judi Dench] told me once, “Always remember we’re not proper grown-ups.” It makes me smile when I think about that, because it is absolutely accurate when it comes to actors. [x]
